About Us
What Is Grey Inflection Intelligence?
Grey Inflection Intelligence (GII) is an independent risk intelligence publication. We cover the three domains where security failures cost organisations the most, and where the gap between what organisations think they have and what they actually have tends to be widest.
Corporate threat assessment. Most organisations have a security policy. Very few have a functioning threat assessment process. The difference between those two things is often the difference between early intervention and a front-page incident. GII covers behavioural threat assessment, workplace violence prevention, insider threat indicators, and the operational frameworks that separate prepared organisations from reactive ones.
Travel risk and duty of care. Sending people into the world carries legal, moral, and operational responsibility. A travel risk policy that lives in a PDF on an intranet is not a duty of care programme. It is a liability dressed up as compliance. GII covers destination risk, traveller safety, crisis response, and the legal landscape that every organisation with mobile staff needs to understand.
Trust & Safety operations. Every platform, marketplace, and digital community faces threats from within its own user base. Content moderation and threat assessment are not the same discipline, but most Trust & Safety teams are only equipped for one of them. GII covers platform risk, threat actor behaviour, escalation pathways, and what the technology industry needs to urgently learn from decades of law enforcement methodology.
Who Writes Grey Inflection Intelligence?
Grey Inflection Intelligence is an independent publication built around operational expertise in security, threat assessment, and risk management.
Analysis is currently produced by a founding analyst with a background spanning law enforcement investigation (major crimes), corporate threat assessment, travel risk management, and trust & safety operations. Formal academic grounding in strategic studies at the postgraduate level.
GII is designed to grow. Future contributors to this publication will be drawn from the operational security community, including professionals with hands-on backgrounds in behavioural threat assessment, insider risk, corporate investigations, and related disciplines. Where contributors hold recognized professional credentials, including the Certified Threat Manager designation from the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), or equivalent practitioner qualifications in insider risk and behavioural threat management, those credentials will be noted alongside their work.
All analysis published under the Grey Inflection Intelligence banner, whether from the founding analyst or future contributors, is held to the same standard: open-source only and operationally grounded.
Grey Inflection Intelligence's founding analyst publishes anonymously to maintain source independence and editorial discretion. Contributors to this publication may choose to publish under their own name and credentials, or anonymously. That choice rests with the individual analyst.

What Makes Grey Inflection Intelligence Different?
There is no shortage of security content online. What is genuinely scarce is analysis written by individuals who have actually done the work.
Most security publications are written by journalists, academics, or policy professionals. They are often excellent at what they do. But there is a difference between analysing a threat assessment programme and running one. There are differences between writing about duty of care frameworks and implementing them under pressure, between commenting on trust and safety failures and having sat in the room where those decisions were made.
Grey Inflection Intelligence comes from the operational side of the room.
That background shapes everything about how analysis is structured here, the questions asked, the gaps identified, the recommendations made. It is not theoretical. It is the kind of thinking that develops when the decisions have real consequences.
There is one other thing that sets GII apart: editorial independence is the foundation of everything GII publishes. Where commercial relationships exist, they will always be disclosed transparently. The analysis serves the reader first. Nothing else changes that.
How Grey Inflection Intelligence Is Structured
GII is currently in its launch phase, and everything is free.
During this period, issues are published regularly across all three content pillars. There is no paywall, no subscription required, and no content held back. Every issue is open to every reader.
This will not always be the case. GII will transition to a tiered subscription model in future, and when it does, subscribers who joined during the launch phase will be the first to know, with advance notice given well before any changes take effect.
What to expect during the launch phase:
Issues are published as the risk landscape and editorial calendar dictate, which means some months will see more frequent publishing than others. The goal during this period is to establish GII’s voice, demonstrate the quality of analysis across all three pillars, and build a readership that understands what this publication is and who it serves.
What the future subscription model will look like:
When GII moves to a paid tier, the structure will be as follows:
Free subscribers will continue to receive one issue per month at no cost, enough to stay connected to GII’s analysis and evaluate whether the full subscription is worthwhile
Paid subscribers will receive a minimum of two issues per month, additional briefs and articles published at editorial discretion, quarterly deep-dive reports on major risk themes, access to the GII resource library (including risk assessment templates, threat matrix frameworks, and operational checklists), and priority response on consulting enquiries
Paid access will be priced at $15 per month or $120 per year.
Subscribing now costs nothing and locks you in as a founding reader. When the paid tier launches, founding subscribers will receive advance notice and recognition within the publication.
Why Subscribe Now?
Subscribing during the launch phase is free and takes thirty seconds. Here is why it is worth doing:
You get everything, immediately. Every issue published during the launch phase lands directly in your inbox. You do not need to remember to check the website. GII comes to you.
You establish yourself as a founding reader. When the paid tier launches, founding subscribers will be acknowledged. Early support for an independent publication matters, and it will be recognized.
You help GII grow. Subscriber numbers signal to the wider security and risk community that GII is worth reading. Every subscription during the launch phase contributes to building the readership that makes this publication sustainable.
You can unsubscribe at any time. There is no commitment, no credit card, and no obligation. If GII is not useful to you, unsubscribing takes one click.
Why Subscribe to the Paid Tier When It Launches?
The paid tier is not a paywall for the sake of it. It is how Grey Inflection Intelligence stays independent.
Paid subscribers are GII's primary stakeholder. Any commercial relationships this publication enters into will be disclosed clearly and will never shape editorial direction. Independence is not a marketing line here. It is an operational standard.
It is operationally grounded. The analysis here comes from individuals who have conducted threat assessments, managed travel risk programmes, operated within trust & safety functions, or worked cases as a law enforcement investigator. The frameworks and observations are tested against reality, not derived from it at a distance.
It is free from institutional pressure. The analysis goes where the evidence points, not where a sponsor, employer, or external relationship would prefer it to go.
It treats you as a professional. This publication does not explain basic concepts to a general audience. It assumes you know your field. What it offers is a perspective from a different angle of the same space, one that may confirm what you already know, challenge assumptions you have not examined, or surface a framework you have not encountered.
When the paid tier launches, it will cost less than a coffee a week. It may, on occasion, be worth considerably more.
